About Nifty Connect

Nifty Connect is a meeting platform built and operated by Nifty IT Consultants (Pty) Ltd.

What it is

Nifty Connect is secure video meeting software for organisations: browser-based meetings with camera, microphone and screen sharing, guest access by link, and an administrative surface for the people who have to run it.

It is sold per organisation rather than per seat. Guests who join a meeting never consume a licensed host seat, which is the part most platforms charge for twice.

Recording and transcription are built and documented, and they are not switched on in the live service yet, because the object storage they write to has not been provisioned. We would rather say that here than let a feature list imply something the platform is not currently doing. Ask us before you plan around either.

Who builds it

Nifty Connect is a product of Nifty IT Consultants (Pty) Ltd, a South African IT consultancy, registration number 2020/487894/07. Nifty IT Consultants (Pty) Ltd is the company you contract with, the company that invoices you and the responsible party for personal information processed through the platform. The same team builds the platform and answers the support mail, which is why one address reaches both.

How it is built, and why that shows

The decisions that are hard to retrofit were made first. Every customer is isolated at the database and API layer rather than filtered in the interface. Roles, entitlements and audit trails are part of the schema. Resellers get a dashboard scoped server-side to the customers assigned to them. Recordings, when the feature is enabled, belong to the organisation and play back through short-lived authorised URLs rather than public links.

Those are the same claims the security page makes in more detail, and they are claims about what is implemented — not about certifications we do not hold.

Where it runs

The platform is operated by Nifty IT Consultants (Pty) Ltd on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the London (eu-west-2) region. The meeting media server runs on that same infrastructure rather than on a third-party video service, so meeting audio and video are not handed to another provider.

That means personal information processed through Nifty Connect is stored outside South Africa. We say so here rather than leaving you to ask. If your organisation has a requirement that data stay in the Republic, tell us before you commit and we will give you a straight answer about what is possible rather than a reassurance.

Status

Nifty Connect is in early access. Participant limits on the published plans are subject to the current platform capacity ceiling during that period, which is stated on the pricing section rather than buried here.
